    • Topic: Enhancing Emotional Resilience of Adolescents in School Settings in Hong Kong: A Manualized Programme

    • About the Speaker: As an Educational Psychologist with four years of dedicated experience, Neil has worked extensively across a wide range of educational settings, including kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, and special schools. His work focuses on providing support to students facing learning and emotional difficulties. He is particularly passionate about fostering student well-being and building emotional resilience, often integrating a practical mindfulness-based approach into his practice. Beyond his direct work with students, Neil is committed to supporting the entire school community by providing valuable training and consultation for both parents and teachers.
  2. Prof Kapil SAYAL, Professor of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, Institute of Mental Health, School of Medicine, University of Nottingham; NIHR Senior Investigator

    • About the Speaker: Professor Kapil Sayal is Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Honorary Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. After completing undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Medicine, Kapil undertook a combined clinical and academic training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry (KCL) and the Bethlem & Maudsley / SLAM NHS Trusts. He was awarded a Health Services Research Training Fellowship investigating pathways to care for children at risk of ADHD and was subsequently appointed as a Clinical Lecturer. Kapil completed his PhD during this period and received 3 awards marking a significant achievement in research for work based on his PhD, including the Royal College of Psychiatrists Research Prize. His work informed the care pathway recommendations in the NICE Guidelines for ADHD.  Kapil is an NIHR Senior Investigator, and leads a programme of clinical trials and Health Services Research focusing on child and young people's mental health.
