The programme aims to:
  1. Develop students’ understanding of basic knowledge and theories of social work and ability to participate in the appraisal of values and principles of the social work programme in local, regional and international contexts.

  2. Develop students’ sensitivity to social injustice and inequality as a result of specific social structures, emergences of social changes and the promotion of general wellness of human beings in the contemporary society.

Remarks:

  1. Students are required to take at least 15 units including one elective course taken at 3,000 or 4,000 level.
  2. Completion of the Minor in Social Works Studies requirements does not lead to the professional qualification as a Registered Social Worker in Hong Kong

All undergraduate non-Social Work students (2019-20 bulletin and after) are eligible to study the Minor in Social Work Studies programme.
