Doing group and relationship therapy using narrative practices
Narrative therapy practices have a long and rich history of being used with groups and in relationships. In this workshop David Newman will share his exploration of using narrative practices in these two realms. Within group work David will include considerations of how to failure proof our questions, practices to help craft documents and how to facilitate messages between groups as well as between groups and individuals. And in relationship therapy David will include ways to use outsider witnessing, engaging with friendship networks, the use of documents, and starting with a safe place to stand when it comes to examining relationship tangles. The workshop will be engaging mix of lectures - including some of the history of how narrative ideas have been used in the two realms we will be exploring, the sharing of work stories, and the exploration of the ideas with exercises.
